ÁGATA Biography
Ágata Isabel Fernando, 30 years old Born in Maputo Mozambique. Known artistically as Dj Ágata, she began her DJ career in July 2011 through her mentor Inzudine Alide, better known as Dj Inzu, at the public event National Female DJ Competition organized by Geração Biz and UNFPA - UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND, and was the winner of the same competition representing the province of Cabo Delgado.
After winning the competition, she invested in her career, sharing the same stage with famous national and international DJs such as Dj Faya, Dj Mandito, Dj Tay, Dj Eduardo PM, Dj Dilson, Dj Supaman, Dj Marcell from Mozambique, Dj Lady Lea, Dj Carly O, Dj Austin Cassim, Dj Kyle Cassim from South Africa and Dj Amorim from Angola.
Her discography includes House Music, Afrobeats, Deep House, Kizomba, Zouk, Brazilian Funk, Tech House, Amapiano, Hip-Hop and RnB.
She is the first female DJ to become resident DJ at one of Mozambique's best nightclubs "Wilson's Wharf 80's Sports Bar" and has also performed at important events such as the NOAS (Night Of African Stars) after-party where great African artists such as Zahara, Lira, Jimmy Dludlu, Samething Soweto, among others.
Dj Ágata also mixed for the New Year's Eve party of one of the Presidents of the Republic of Mozambique. She says it was a very challenging job, but very important in her career.
