DONNA Biography
Born in the City of Joy, Kolkata the city of music and art, this young girl was introduced to various forms of music at the age of 2 years. Hailing from a musical family, music runs in DJ Donna’s blood and it’s a part of her soul. But she has risen from her passion for music and made her love into her profession. At a young age of 16 she stepped into the world of DJs and has been improving her spinning skills ever since, the youngest female DJ of India .
A student by day and an aspiring DJ when the sun sets across the horizon, DJ Donna has been a perfectionist, whether that is in her profession as a DJ or the way her name is pronounced. Encouraged by her colleagues from the world of DJing she has taken strides in her profession since 2004, and has never looked back… She is a person who has never restricted her approach to music; whether it is her love for slow music, pop, pop-rock, classical music or playing club music by spinning the turn table console, Donna has made sure that she has mastered what she has undertaken. Anything ranging from her dedication to music, DJing or her academics, she has made sure she knew what she wanted and she achieved all of it..
DJ Donna started off training under the best DJs in Kolkata, among which was DJ Anshul (Kolkata) DJ Lloyd (Mumbai) and she mastered the art further by teaching other aspiring DJs at DJ Lloyd’s institute in Kolkata. Having travelled major cities in India which include Mumbai, Goa, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Gurgaon and many more and putting the dance floor on fire with her music spell of peppy and energetic beats, this young gal has not restricted herself from spreading her aura in just the major cities but has reached the far east and north covering cities like Guwahati and Jaipur. This charismatic individual has made her presence known and felt through her spinning in major events like the re-launch party of Club Cubana (Goa); opening party for Club Gusto (Jaipur) and the opening party for Spring Club (Kolkata)… She has hovered through the world of music putting the crowd of all ages on their feet.. She has mesmerised the young engineers of BITS Pilani as well as the elite corporate crowd of Taj Bengal at the MTS Mobile Connections launch party with her magic of tunes…
Donna has set the dance floor on fire by sharing the stage with top celebrities of the globe like Jal (the band from Pakistan), Simon Webbe (Member of the boy band “Blue”) Rannvijay (MTV VJ and Roadies Fame) Juggy D (UK Punjabi Singer) and the Naman Shaw (of the hit daily soap “Kasam Se”). She made her debut in the International music industry with her first gig at the grand Regency (Qatar) followed by Club 400 (Dubai), Water Kingdom (Bangladesh), Hyatt (Kathmandu, Nepal), Buzz Club (Bhutan).
Being a professionally trained dancer herself, DJ Donna has a clear sense of beats and she loves to dance and groove to the harmony of the changing notes and beats.. This enables her to feel the heartbeat of her audience and fans on the dance floor setting them on their feet in no time with the versatility of her genres…
