CYDNEY Biography
Born and raised in Sungai Petani, Kedah, CYDNEY is a small town girl with big dreams. Growing up, CYDNEY would turn to music and arts to heal herself during her darkest times, and has since developed an immense passion for singing, songwriting and music production.
CYDNEY is a classically trained pianist from age 6 to 11 and at 12 years old, she taught herself to play the guitar and started writing songs since then. CYDNEY picked up DJ-ing in a quest to better understand electronic and dance music production. Her deep understanding and unbiased passion for various musical genres and complex structures is what sets her apart from the rest.
Her music collection spans across many genres such as Big Room, Progressive, Electro House, Future House, Bass House, Deep House, Trance, Psytrance, Trap, Hard Trap, Hardstyle, Reverse Bass, Dubstep, Moombahton, Hip Hop, etc. As a singer-songwriter who strongly values the true depths of human emotions, CYDNEY believes that a great DJ is one who can not only make the dancefloor go crazy, but also one who can take listeners on an emotional, ecstatic, and spiritual journey through the night.
CYDNEY has written, sung on and produced many TVCs of international brands such as BiC, Tropicana Frutz, ASTRO, Nestle, Tic Tac, to name a few. CYDNEY has recently released her first single titled 《有些话不用说 Shh》on Spotify, iTunes and NetEase Music (网易云音乐), which is entirely written, produced, mixed and mastered by the artist herself. She will be releasing one single a month for the rest of 2020.
